‘VELAYUDHAM’ BREAKS ALL MUSIC RECORDS!








SONY MUSIC SELLS ALL MUSIC CD’S ON THE 1ST DAY OF ITS LAUNCH!


August 28th 2011, Chennai: Sony Music Entertainment, a leading global music company and a dominant player in the South Indian music market, witnessed a never before launch as the company sold all the CD’s of the music awaited movie Velayudham on the first day of its launch. Adding to the excitement, Madurai had over 1 lacs fans who attended and cheered through the entire event.


Commenting on the successful launch and the huge crowd at Madurai, Ashok Parwani, Sony Music Entertainment Chennai, said, “We are overwhelmed with the response the movie and the music has received. Velayudham has broken all records and we have sold all our units within a day of its launch. The soundtracks are original, soulful and memorable. We’re sure that the compositions will go down in history as some of the best melodies of our times.”


Sony Music Entertainment tied up with one of the leading Radio channels of Tamil Nadu for this launch where the RJ chatted up exclusively with Vijay Anthony, the Music Director of Velayudham. During the one hour special session on the channel, thousands of Vijay’s fans tuned in to listen to the premiere of the music tracks while the director himself recounted his experiences during the recording. Additionally, Sony Music had launched an online pre booking offer which has also witnessed a tremendous response.


Velayudham directed by M. Raja stars Vijay, Hansika Motwani and Genelia D'Souza in lead roles. The movie is scheduled to launch (month) 2011


Sony Music plans to leverage its digital delivery infrastructure to ensure that all music lovers can access the Velayudham songs legitimately. These songs will be available through Nokia ovi store as well as through legal downloads on the internet. Sony Music is also leveraging its partnership with mobile operators to ensure that songs are available to the music lovers and fans as callberback ringtones and through other streaming avenues on the mobile platform.
